About Skinnet Hockey Academy

MISSION:

SKINNER HOCKEY Academy is an elite, full time, hockey-training academy. We provide state of the art athletic training with a full college prep school education. This is the place where hockey players go to be trained like Olympians. The 9.5-month intensive program is designed and taught by one of the worlds leading hockey educators, Sean Skinner. All players will be immersed in the development of hockey skills, tactics, systems, strength development, conditioning, dryland training, mental components, positioning and hockey sense. We create student athletes who are prepared to play collegiate, Major Junior and professional hockey.

GOAL:

The goal of the SKINNER HOCKEY Academy is to develop 14 & 15-year-old players who are prepared to become impact players for their National Teams, Jr A teams, prep schools, high schools, and midget AAA teams. The key in hockey advancement is not making the team; it’s in being the dominant key player on that team. We will be creating dominant players who can go back to their home teams and be impact players for 11th & 12th grade.

WHO:

Sean Skinner is a world-renowned professional ice hockey skills coach and a coaching instructor. He has worked for Hockey Canada, The Swedish Ice Hockey Federation, USA Hockey, The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), the top Russian Ice Hockey Clubs, and NHL teams such as the Montreal Canadiens. Sean has also worked with NHL players like Alexander Ovechkin.

CATCH THE DREAM

The dream of most hockey players is to play in the NHL. How does one get to the NHL? Two routes can lead a North American player to the NHL: The Canadian Major Junior route or the NCAA Collegiate route. SKINNER HOCKEY Academy is focused on developing players for both the NCAA Collegiate route and Major Juniors.

How does a player achieve an NCAA Collegiate scholarship in ice hockey? The most successful route is for a player it to be invited to play for the US National Development Program in Ann Arbor, Michigan. All of the players on the US National Team receive a scholarship. The second best way is to be a TOP PLAYER on a Junior A team, Prep School, Minnesota High School, or a midget AAA team. Yet the key for most players is not what team you play for, but are you the impact player that the scouts notice? Where can you go to get the skills, training, and knowledge to make your 14 or 15 year old this impact player? Only at the SKINNER HOCKEY Academy!
