ACADEMICS
SKINNER HOCKEY Academy is training players to get future college scholarships, and players cannot get into college without good grades. At SKINNER HOCKEY Academy the players education is of the utmost importance. Players will be
enrolled in Spring Lake High School where specialized teachers will be hired to conduct classes right on the grounds at the NSC Conference Center. Lab work and science classes will be conducted at the high school. All players will take college prep courses that includes 4 years of math, 4 years of English, 4 years of science, 4 years of social studies and 2 years of foreign language. Since we are working with 9 th & 10 th graders we are talking about the core subjects that every student must take. Electives are in the 11 th & 12 th grade years. Players will be training in ice hockey for half of the day from 9am-3pm, and then go to school from 3pm-8:30pm. Classes will be split into two groups in each subject for a higher and lower levels to accommodate the gifted, and those who need help per subject.
Our program will allow the player to Master his academics as well as his hockey. Many programs do not allow for this balance.

SOCIALLY
We are looking at the development of the whole person. Including culture and community service and Family time. Minneapolis is one of the best places to raise children in the country with more museums, theaters and things to do for kids. Players will be involved in monthly community service projects. And, player will be available for family time. Home for the holidays. Right now your child is probably involved in a hockey model that runs havoc with family and religion. Constantly, players are pushed from one tournament to another, often times disrupting a holiday weekend or the schooling of the athlete. Now players will be able to get much more training than before, stay in school and be home with the family for the holidays. Players will now be able to be home for Thanksgiving, home for Xmas and available for weekly religious services if they so choose.
